A documentary about Jazz clarinets and the people that play them, with particular focus on The Albert System Clarinets used by the early jazz players such as George Lewis, Johnny Dodds Sidney Bechet from the New Orleans tradition through to modern players like Evan , Joe Torregano and Australia's David Ridyard, Paul Furness and Jack McLaughlin.
Work has already begun with some of interviews already in the can, including an hour long interview with New Orleans band educator and jazz hero Joe Torregano (NB not my footage) who passed away recently, Charlie Gabrielle from the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Evan Christopher perhaps the best exponent of the Albert System Clarinet playing today.
